I find it quite interesting that people often ask me what type of meditation I teach. I realize that through the ages a few main branches of yoga and meditation have developed, such as Vipassana and Hridaya. Additionally, the science of yoga provides five main types of yoga to appeal to all personality types or all aspects of the personality. However, meditation is a state of mind, not a technique. All meditation techniques developed by true gurus, or teachers who have experienced enlightenment through their practice, are their best attempts to assist their students in replicating their own meditative experiences.
Meditation does not require any spiritual beliefs at all, but the willingness and desire to sit and to seek ones own inner truth and peace. The science of yoga is inclusive of all beliefs, meaning you can be an atheist, Christian or any other religion and practice yoga. Yoga does not teach any belief about god or the universe but provides a platform for allowing the experience of your own truth to arise. Yoga does not teach blind faith or mandate certain behaviors but leads you to potentially transformational experiences and the possibility of living in alignment with inspiration.
I teach three main aspects of meditation; focusing the mind, an attitude of compassion, and surrender to the practice. Focus allows us to find the spaces between the thoughts, and to achieve therefor a state of meditation. Compassion is applied to the human condition of constant thoughts and uncomfortable feelings. Beyond the state of meditation is Samadhi or Self-Realization, experienced through the complete surrender of the thought, the personality, and all egoic structures that we have created to make sense of our world as we have known it and to allow for a more unified perception.
All aspects of the practice have the potential to transform the life of the practitioner by bringing about space between action and reaction, or thought and action, a greater sense of inner peace, and a deep wellspring of resilience.
Join me for classes, series and workshops currently offered at www.cashiersvalleyfusion.com or schedule a one on one session for a more private and intimate approach or to overcome personal blockages or struggles in your spiritual practice and development. I am happy to work with individuals or small groups, couples or families.
Much of what I teach in meditation is the development of the witness consciousness. We all have a deep desire as humans to simply be seen. Not judged, not even named, and certainly not told what to do. In these intimate healing sessions I assist my clients in being able to witness their deepest hurts, to overcome limiting belief systems, and embrace lifestyle changes through steps that are achievable for them. I also assist clients in the total healing journey through referrals to other health professionals who can offer the testing, guidance and treatment that is outside my scope of practice. Navigating the healthcare industry can be tricky, and life can be overwhelming. If you are in need of being fully seen, heard and learning to show up for yourself in the most loving and healing way possible, make an appointment today for an individual healing session. I am honored to work with you. Namaste.
